How does Zen/2 (half cubik) rotation work, and why are there only a few orientations?

In the left menu, the Zen/2 card has a rotate arrow. Click it to switch orientation before placing.

Only orientations that can physically connect to the structure are available—unsupported orientations are intentionally blocked.
